Okay folks, I know by now I’m doing a little overkill in posting stuff like this, but I promise I’ll be posting a wider variety of stuff after this, so just bear with me one last time, heh.
This is the latest album cover I drew and painted with watercolors for my ninth album I compiled for Simba, the image was loosely based on the sci-fi/fantasy works of Michael Whelan. I got inspired to base the picture after his particular works, thinking back to the pictures within Meatloaf’s ‘Bat out of Hell II – Back into hell’ album booklet, as I was fascinated by those pictures for the longest time, and wanted to do something as ‘surreal’ and unique. This picture is actually a combination of two of his works, the main one being the ‘Boz’ part, and the second being Simba sitting on the rocks.
...Simbas often told me his look is one of ‘Why’re you wearing so much clothes? Take ‘em off.”
I didn’t ink the picture, as it was done rather smaller then my usual scale, and I felt my inking pens were too thick for this task. If anyone’s faced a similar dilemma and has some suggestions on how to rectify that, I’d greatly appreciate it!
Anyway, I did this album for Valentines day, and the songs on it consist of those below. It’s safe to say by this point I’ve exhausted my resources for at least a few months, and will have to resort to every great musical artist’s last desperate hope of selling another album…making a greatest hits record.
Anyway, enjoy!
Queen –A kind of magic
Genesis – Hold on my heart
Seal – Come see what love has done
Tina Turner – Talk to my heart
Paul McCartney – Through our love
Starship – Set the night to music
Genesis - Your own special way
REO Speedwagon – Just for you
Paul McCartney – However Absurd
Def Leppard – Hysteria
John Lennon – (Just like) Starting over
--- Bonus Tracks ---
Valentine – Martina McBride
Rebecca St. James – Lion
ABBA – Tiger
Andrea Bocelli [With Celine Dion] – The Prayer
David Bowie – As the world falls down
Air Supply - Miracles
*The last few tracks are labeled ‘Bonus tracks’, simply because I took the first 11 artists whose songs appear on the first album I did, and found new songs by them, and filled the rest of the cd with other tracks I found

Inspired by Michael Whelan, hm? I sense a hint of Frank Frazetta here, too. nice and stylish, and the tree reminded me of a fanciful lighted photo or something.
a nice evidence on what you can do art-wise. I'd like to see more of that.
as for the lines, either use a soft pencil (2b) or what GH-Mongo said. I normally use a fineliner by Faber, which is a bit thick, but works well. for finer stuff I have a technical pen with a 0.25mm tip.
