Fun fact I discovered this past week: the Commodore VIC-20 was originally going to be named the Vixen.
As another note, as well aware as I am that '80s pop culture and '80s electronics were around at the same time, it's still weird to me to see the two juxtaposed like this. (Granted, the VIC-20 did come out in 1980 and, thus, probably predates the "period" stuff I worked into this piece anyway.)

Sweet! It would go well sitting next to a PET. :)
Given how these things were practically thrown together, it's amazing that they worked at all. For old computer buffs, this is well worth a read: On the Edge

I have a C64C, and it's great machine. The funny thing is, I actually got it for free, cause my friend had one lying in the basement since 1990. It surprised me a bit, but it still works. Though I had to make video converter to be able to use it with modern TV, and I don't have any cassettes with games or anything, so I can run only my own code.
She's my own design. I don't think the name Vixen ever made it past the "codename" stage, and the Flashdance-style getup she's wearing wouldn't become popular until after the Commodore 64 had hit the market anyway.
HOWEVER, as I recently learned, there was another computer that was sold under the name "Vixen", albeit very briefly: the third-generation Osborne. I had half a mind to remake this picture last year as an ad for that machine, but its form factor doesn't lend itself to being held this way.

Ohh I see :D I remembered a product called Vixen (the one you mentioned) and I thought it was still Commodore :)
In any case, great work on this gal! I love the 80s vibes she has! The combo "ballerina flats-legwarmers-headband" with those colors highlights that era greatly

Hey guess what, turns out whoever messed with Wikipedia between 2009 and 2019 was wrong; Commodore did go as far as mocking up some ad copy with the "Vixen" branding, complete with doodles of a little fox mascot. This video goes into it more, along with the release of the Japanese version, the VIC-1001. I have no idea where he got those photos.
