umm no it has a sculpty head i build in mesh aswell so i know the difference check it in edit mode and you will see the head uses animated sculptys. i dont realy need to say more xD if you take a good look at your avater you will see ^_^. i have made full mesh avatars myself js. >.> i KNOOOOW MESHHHHHHH
Well they are but they use the SL mesh body for customization.
I won't lie; this is a tricky one. I have long long long wanted to mesh up a nice sexy male and female body, but the truth is, I'm scared how well it would do. At the moment the standard method is using mesh parts, on the SL mesh body. It allows customers to change things as they wish. Blue Galaxy and Viss, are not the norm in the sense they were instantly accepted. Many many others have failed. Not to mention you can only dress them if other content creators use a specific UV map (again both those creators were very lucky in that they drew the eye for people to mod for their avs). I am not sure on others, but when an av takes 4 months or so to make (LE or not) I'm more persuaded to go where I know the safe market is.
More and more I am thinking of making a fully rigged mesh body, and allow for some (as many as SL allow) adjustments. But it's something that will take a lot of planning to please as many as possible. I simply can't afford to do it if no one buys it after 4 months of work. Actually I would appreciate the thoughts on this. I might remake this into a journal.

Ah I like both the Galaxy and the Viss, in their own way both were ground breaking. thankyou for saying but don't mistake me - I REALLY want to go full mesh but I need to be sure it will work. I have high respect to those who have tried and succeeded (and also those that failed) But I simply assume they all have RL jobs as well. So long as I can eat and pay my rent I will give people what they want. At the moment, that want is 'editable parts' I am personally hoping the tide will change, so I can make something that does not use a 10 year old archaic body.
Hopefuly sl will update a bit more soon. Hard to say that without lolling.
But if going full mesh is what you eventualy wanna do and going by the fact your simular to me im sure you will get to it and do it well ^-^ your avarars are already best isl imo. And you know how straight up I can be xD.

Yeah mesh is a very tricky thing + there's not much clothing for them sense the bodies are rigged so you have to make due or you have to make yourself a body overlay that cuts off arms or legs, ect; mesh is a very tricky game. Making FULL mesh avatars is NOT easy, partial mesh is complicated and easy depends on your skills. But I'm a full mesh wearer, and only wear mesh :P
what brought on this decision;
I bought one bad mod and I was CRUSHED so I said no more prim avas :s

I understand you there. However prim avs (and even sculpt) have been on the way out for a long time. Don't mistake these for prim avatars, they are full mesh, but they are made of parts. (I think you perhaps meant that but used the wrong words).
Due to the enormous amount of extra texturing, multiple UV unwrapping and independent rigging, these are far harder to make than one complete mesh avatar. But as I said the customers (most of them) want the ability to mod things as they see fit.
Still thanks for your feedback on this, it's definitely something I will look into closely.
Put it this way, if I was simply making myself an avatar (which I might do) It would be one single fully rigged mesh with a seamless animated jaw, using the 'workaround' to rig onto an attachment bone. Completely seamless and 1, perhaps two textures for the entire thing. Perfect for me, but then I have the original mesh models so I can change them as I saw fit. For everyone else they would be able to retexture it, but that's all.

Oh I know they're NOT prim avatars, it's partial mesh, nobody seems to make just 'prim' avatars anymore :s I love your avatars though but if your filters aren't on you should check out my gallery of my pictures I've taken of my current avatars :P I'm hellbent on the VISS it's an awesome avatar :3 BG is my second favourite, Your wolf though this girl where I work in SL has a white one, I was in 'awe' on how good it looked, cus I was like 'wait a second, I don't know of any avatars with a head like that, and her tail was doing a different wag that I hadn't seen before so I inspected it and was like 'well I'll be damned' and I give you NICE props on how realistic you made the head it's spectacular, it just isn't like what I 'wear' XD otherwise I'd get it, it looks great, the tail is unique, Your something else, your avatars have diversity a lot of it and your avatars have a lot of realism as far as the 'parts' go (IE; I love the way your husky head is, it's like very similar to a real husky) and your colouring is very unique not a lot of people go out of there way to make there avatars colourful it's 'you get what you get and if you want different go find a mod artist... so :> I give you kudos~
Well, I personally love mesh avatars, the more mesh, the better, since they just move more naturally and look much cuter. =) The Problem I see with meshs and clothing mods is a very simple one: Most creators (not you!) don't easily give out UV and simple shadow maps for others to mod. I think the viss is so highly accepted because you can easily download all files needed from the creators website. I think I've seen the resources before I even saw the avatar. I am not able to make models but I love texturing, and I always want to put some textures on the marketplace to finance all my modding. to minor modders like me, this is essential. Most creators don't even answer your inquiry, and if I can't mod and resell the textures I've spent (sometimes) hours creating, I simply don't bother.
The Petite avatar is a good example. though it's not flawless, it was released with lots of clothing templates and options for modders to get going, and now we have whole sims dedicated to the fairys. =) (Just saying)
On the other hand we have creators that acctually make full mesh avatars that are, well... utterly overpriced. Of course it takes a lot of time to make a viss bunny. But seriously, does it take much more time to make then prim or sculpt avatars? I don't think so. The more expensive the mesh items, the less people are able to pay for them.
Anyway, flower, your work is amazing and I really love these special edition wolves =) I think you could easily pull off a lovely full-mesh avatar some time in the future! =) And I really love the wolf tail, thank you again for showing! X3
Sorry for my little rant, I shouldn't read these nasty comments. D=

Eep I'm so slow to reply - sorry!
Thanks so much for these thoughts. It's really great to get this kinda feedback as it will help me plan for the future.
One thing I did consider doing was to modify a UV map for a full mesh body so that it would follow the SL templates. Theoretically this could work and will allow the mesh body to use SL clothes... (theoretically :P I'd need to test it loads) It would have its own short falls of course but it was just another idea I had.
Thanks for your kind comments as well - I'm really starting to consider going towards a full mesh av. If not for the next one, it would probably be soon after that.
(Rants all good - this kinda stuff is handy ^.^ )
