another image for the How to draw gryphons booklet, will probably be used without background in there, decided to add one, and since I would really love to lay on a beach now, that's the reason behind the theme. First day on a beach for this gryphie anyhow...
Done in my very personal heavy style, which is nothing more than a mix up of various other styles (I doubt that anyone outta there can come up with a personal unique style up anymore... there are so many outta there and whenever you think you created something new and unique you just find out that someone else did something similar yet earlier...)
Lot of linear dodge and overlay brush action on there... I love to play with lighting :D

Very nice 'kay :) ... the water-sparkles really captured me too, being burdy OvO
I dunno how you did it, but you managed to put a lot of serenity into this picture. It just seems to cozyrelaxed and set aside from the rest of the world, just like you can feel on a beach. Very well done there.
The gryph itself is really neat, especially on the mane part there, it's a very good touch. Interesting tail with the brown fluff all the way up to the base too. She looks very buff, which isn't a problem, but it makes you think that she's about to smack her own reflection or something ;).
