Finally. FINALLY. After years of avoiding drawing armor for fear of doing it wrong, I knuckled down and did some armor studies when I was going for a few days without internet.
I can draw armor. At least, basic armor that can be embellished, and basic forms that I can now use to study and draw different historical armors from. I've taken the first steps. And it's amazing the difference that practice makes. I woke up the day after drawing this itching to research and design more armor, after years of being scared stiff by the stuff.
It feels kind of empowering, really. Fitting that the first suit of armor I drew after my studies belongs to my drow paladin of freedom, Altonor. X3
So, here he is, after spending a full day studying, waffling over whether I was ready to put it all together, and getting scolded by my own character for my stalling. I know it probably needs lots of work, but you know what? I'm proud of it. :3
