Good. Glad you got to keep one for yourself *grin*
I'm curious, since I can see a more pronounced shape for the bridge of the wearer's nose, do you shape the leather on any form as you paint it or is that just a result of wearing? I am vaguely familiar with some leather craft, but I have never seen masks quite like these. Thank you for sharing. *bows*

these masks are made from leather treated with plant chemicals not oils and are therefor a much stiffer material. this type of leather would not be used to make clothes out of. to get the shaping i soaked the cut out leather in water then formed it how i wanted (see the feathers on the waterbird mask). i wore them untill they dried to get the correct shape. using a form would work too but i don't have one.
i'm glad you like them!

I have made a number of masks, though not much since college, and then I didn't happen to use leather as a medium. I am not only impressed by your design (and I see glimmers of more detail that I suspect simply did not photograph well here) but curious about your methods. I am starting to get a more "creative" bent after a number of years of a "haircut and a real job," and I do appreciate your time to share some of the background and such. Thank you.
well thank you for all the comments. i appretiate your interest *ego boost*. i haven't had much time to be artistic (or sleep for that matter) recently but as soon as i get some form of free time i'll be getting new stuff up. i've got a lot of photography but i'm not sure this is the place to post pics of flowers and pretty scenery... thanx for the attention!
There is nothing prohibiting posting of flowers and scenery pics since it may not be art of an animal, but it still may qualify as art by a "furry" or {insert preferred anthropomorphic self-identification here}. But yes, the audience here is certainly skewed more to the animal kingdoms ;)
P.S If you are interested in photography, I recommend you take a look at
MoodyFerretPhotography if you haven't already. Mix of animal and other nature photography, such as forests, sunsets, etc. Good stuff.
