ginkos have parallel veins unlike most trees whos veins split off from one main vain that runs down the center of the leaf. this shows the evolution from grasses and banboos that also have parallel veins (guess who's a bio major...). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ginkgo here's a wikipedia about them. they also improve your memory along with garlic!

ya as a science person i look at naure with a great amount of respect. i always find plants and animals to be waaaaay more beautiful and moving than anything man has ever made. even chemical interactions have this sense of perfection to them. it's a bit harder to explain the beauty of water molecules than that of flowers though.
