What do you think the main difference is? I remember you sayin something about layering.... But I have an awful memory and can't remember exactly what that was about. >.>
Also I've been meaning to ask how you get no lines. Do you even draw it out first or just sit down and go with ink?

I feel like I can layer better with inks. I can make a really light layer first then can go over it with more light layers until it builds up in some areas to be darker. This also helps with the whole line-less thing. I have it sketched out and clean it up as much as I can with an eraser. Then I'll put in light layers more or less right up to the pencil lines. When that first layer is dry, I can erase whatever bits of pencil that didn't get covered with the ink. I do it more in segments, not erasing all the lines at once.
Oh that sounds logical, I will have to try that with my watercolors and see if I can come up with a similar effect. My main problem with watercolors is that I can only go over an area once or twice with a brush before the color beneath it begins to come up. I've got some inks in storage somewhere... I may start to play around with them if I can ever find them. Sounds like switching over will cure my biggest problem.
