I need to see the new film. [A buddy and I wondered why they bothered calling it The Lone Ranger when it's Depp as Tonto everyone is going to see it for.] Oh, and the 80's cartoon was more than decent. If I remember right it was the Lone Ranger and Zorro Hour or something like that. [And there i go showing my age again....]
Wasn't a huge fan of the 80s LR cartoon, but then I was spoiled by the 60's Halas-Batchelor cartoon's superb orchestral score and fantastic visual design. Interestingly enough, there's a LR/Gunsmoke connexion in both the 60s and 80s series; Michael Rye recorded an early pilot for the Gunsmoke radio series, while, of course, Bill Conrad wound up in the Matt Dillon radio role.
I just got home from work and did a google search a minute ago to see if I could find any of the 80's cartoons. I discovered something interesting. It appears that it was the Lone Ranger, Zorro, And Tarzan hour. For some reason I remember the Tarzan show being seperate from the two of them. *Scratches head* Go figure.
