Painting started this in 2005, and left it for a long time because I thought it looked like shit. Couple of years later I decided I might as well finish it. Will probably sell this eventually, since I don't like it at all.
But people like dragons, so here you go. Two dragons being boring.

I do not see how you can't like this.. it is absolutely amazing... these are two incredibly gorgeous black dragons, and just.. the detail is striking. I love the detail on the dragons, the scales, the well done lighting.. and the background is just incredible. The landscape is gorgeous, I love how they are perched on the cliff edge like that, overlooking the water. The water is so beautiful and the sky is so gorgeous... like a summer sunset... I love it! <3
I actually really like the way the water looks. I c'n see how you'd think it'd need some work, but I really dig the dancing lines all over - it makes it feel alive. I also really do love the landscape in general - the rock formations are all fantasmic and all the little plant-growths are great! I especially love the roots stretchin' all over.
I implore these dragons to reconsider their state of boredom. There are too many well-drawn muscles on themselves to admire to be bored. Unless...they are wistfully praying for a fetus-dispensing doorbell to appear. In this case, they are allowed to appear bored in their waiting.

Thanks. The water was frustrating to work on since I couldn't figure out what looked wrong with it. Is also quite large, about 35 x 45 cm, and having it shrunk down big enough to look at on a computer screen actually really helps with identifying what looks wrong with the water. I may go back and fix it up if I can be bothered.
I'm happy you like the way it looks though :P
Their state of boredom could have many causes. Maybe they're city people, and just can't find appreciation for the nature around them. Then again, they could very well be waiting hopefully for such a doorbell to appear and relieve them of their boredom.

I really don't know what you consider wrong in this image, Zarathus: for me, it's an awesome piece, well detailed, the musculature looks right to me, the Dragons are supple...
Okay, a true artist never stops learning, but it's true for every artists. You really don't have to put down artwork like that.

You're probably right. I guess overall it doesn't look too bad as a picture. I'm just bothered by the amount of flaws throughout almost every detail. I guess that can be expected when trying to fix up old pictures though. If I totally re-drew this picture now, I know it'd be a lot better.
But uh. I feel I spend too much time complaining about my own art. So.. thank you :P And I'm happy you think it looks good.

It's true that artist's are their own worst critics. I honestly like the piece, even though there are a few things that set it apart from your other works. The biggest thing that sticks out to me is the harsh contrast in the angles of the dragon's heads. They are perpendicular to one another, which really breaks the flow of the eye. However, this does make me stare at the picture longer, trying to take it all in instead of letting my eye graze over it, so it could be a plus as well. *chuckles*
