Actually, Isabelle sort of takes holiday's off. While she still sits in the office, if say, the Bug Off is going on, she will refuse to help the mayor with any "mayoral" tasks for that day, and suggests that instead you take the day off. Well, if you don't do anything in the town hall, neither does she, because you're the only person in the entire village that EVER goes into the town hall.
She's either a dedicated worker, or really doesn't do much of anything, and suffers slightly from a "Bartelby the Scrivener" style-disorder. She never leaves her place of work (Bartelby actually was living there, unbeknownst to the employer until the end of the story, and we wonder if Isabelle does the same), she never talks to anyone except on a strictly "need to talk" basis, and works alone most of the time.
I think what really confuses this, however, is the fact that her brother, Digby, also never leaves his post outside of the H.H.A. Showrcase except to let you inside.
Do you think that Nintendo was trying to capture that sort of "Canine Loyalty" idea? The idea that a truly loyal dog will never leave your side and always be ready to aide, no matter the time of day or the weather?

I think I remember that, though any room she has might not exist outside of mere mention, as the Town Hall is open 24-hours and she's the only person who works there besides you.
I think they should have put in a "Night Shift" secretary. They used to do a similar thing with the Post Office/Civic Center in previous game. Pelly worked during the day, and Phyllis worked at night.
