The concept behind the zutra and Scarlet are actually fairly interesting concepts.
...They also weren't originally David's ideas. They were someone else's, who gave them to him so he could "do something with it."

Let me correct myself, Scarlet/Jim pairing was David's idea, but the entire zutra species concept was not.
It really is a situation where if there had been a more capable writer at the helm, you could have had a fairly good webcomic story.
Hell, I had a better comedy storyline in the comic than most of the stuff he wrote...and even then he had to dumb it down when he actually did it. :P

Well, his webcomics being terrible is kind of why I read them.

My problem with him is that he once tried to sell me out to Portal of Evil. Back when they were harping on him all the time, he offerred up my works as a "peace offering" or some bullshit like that.

On a sidenote, I'm one of the two people who helped develop the Zutra concept. the other is a guy named Foxstar I haven't seen online in years...

I actually did 90% of the development work after Foxstar came up with the original idea, then vanished. I posted a FAQ containing most of my ideas on the race.
