Meet Sheldon, a stray that entered our lives on Saturday night.
We found Shelly in a parking lot with a broken leg, terrified and alone. He never had been around people before either, so we were no real comfort to him. We took him to the emergency vet and got him X-rayed, and his surgery was yesterday. His leg should heal totally normally and he will be a regular cat. :) He's also calmed way down now that he's not in pain and has been handled a lot by the vets.
We were considered giving him to a rescue, but I'm afraid this little bugger's wormed his way into our hearts. :3
So, LobitaWorks is no longer a pet-free environment... but while he recovers he is to be confined to his crate except to come out and play. I'm also going to be extremely dilligent about vaccuuming daily. So current projects shouldn't have any contact with cat dander, but as this guy recovers over the next two months, there's a chance future projects might come in contact with a hair or two. Just so you know!
...actually this is less about warning people of the potential for cat hair and more about showing off our adorable kitten. Shhhh don't tell nobody.

The cone of shame.. it makes you feel so bad for the little guy, but at the same time you can't help but find it absolutely adorable and heart melting.
My cat got out accidentally once when I was living in San Diego and we had a neighbor with a dog. That dog was a 160 lb or so rottweiler named Zeus that was all muscle that hated adult humans, other dogs, and especially, cats. o.x Tigger managed to squeeze his little butt through the fence and Zeus was not a happy camper.
Contrary to expectation, Tigger came out with nothing more than a tiny bit out of his ear. He trotted into out sliding back door which we left open for him with a can of tuna as bait.
The following day we go outside and Zeus has a cone of shame around his neck. His face was clawed to hell, he was missing a chunk of his nostril, he had gashes on his neck and one of his paws had stitches. He looked so pathetic o.@
Tigger is part Savannah. He whooped a rottweiler into submission. No cones for him, he can brave cancer stitches like a pro.

Bahahaha
Tigger, the Chuck Norris of the Felines. Demigod of Claws and Tuna. King of the Fluffy Bed. Defeater of the Grecian God Zeus.
His deeds were so great that the gods painted a picture of him in the stars, all across the sky.
And people said "That's Hailey's boy, yeah that's right."

He may have been relaxed, I can't really tell to be honest (im not an expert on cats), just by how wide his eyes looked made him appear stressed to me. But poor thing, broken leg and everything thats happened to him. He's found a loving home to nestle into now though. And I didnt even know they made the cones that small omg
Aw how precious! ;w; Strays have a way of getting into your heart. <3
But as an owner of two rescued cats I can say that they will do their damndest to get wherever you don't want them to; namely your fur storage. XD Or any time you lay -anything- on the floor to pattern. I wish you guys luck on the rest of his recovery!

A yes the vacuuming, keeping things out of cat reach, the dander-free storage areas, and designated blankets to keep cats off stuff (since I tend to keep WIP sewing things on the sewing table, and cats love to lay on soft things on tables, the sewing table has a thick bed quilt with each side a different color, orange side is cat hair side lol)
Welcome to fursuit making with pets >W< I wonder if he'll be anything like Creampuff, attacking scissors and running off with cloth tape measures.
PS I have kitten fever dangit... I want a kitten soooo badly... and this is not helping!
But I have yet to foster a litter and not keep one and we have 4 indoor cats and 7 outdoor cats already .__. so no kittens for me, lol

another tip, an important one for indoor males around projects:
Neuter him as soon as he is ready! The rescue group I go through for for fosters does them as small as 4 pounds. If you wait at all too long he could get in the habit of spraying to scent mark... as much as I love my cat Raskle to death he has to be an outdoor cat because he does this :C

Conekitty steals your love. And tunnels his way into your aorta. Major respect to you for taking on such a tiny helpless little life, saving him from possible torturous death and giving him a forever home. Little fuzzy baby doesn't know how lucky he is just yet. But that just makes me so happy I could squee. <3
I hope he gives you many years of joy, shedded cat hairs, and purrs. <3
