I wanted to capture the look and feel of a classical painting, specifically along the lines of Rembrandt's work. I couldn't manage the richness of an oil painting digitally, but I hope that some sense of richness is conveyed. This charming gentleman opossum belongs to Loiosh, and is the first opossum I've drawn. The sumptuous couch is mostly of my own design, a few bits inspired from the Handbook of Ornamental Motifs.

I'm so glad I'm watching you. o.o As I told Loi earlier, this is the absolute best furry art I have ever seen. Your attention to detail is stunning, and the scenery in particular is amazing. The stylistic contrast between the character and the couch is remarkable, as well.
A) I love the pawpad inside armrest detail
B) I may just try to make that end table someday
C) I never, as in never, would have believed anybody could make an opossum look so sexy!
The details and colors are simply incredible in this piece, the kind of picture that makes one able to believe it is an artists rendition of an actual scene. Very well done!

You are so incredibly skilled and brilliant. The fur just looks real, fluffy and the amount of detail is just terrific. Your pictures are so adorable. If I could do fur just half as well as you it'd still be much better than I ever dared to hope ^.^

What catches my eye most about this is the opossum. He stands out instantly. I really do love the couch and it's softness though. It has a lot of depth, but that opossum just trumps it all with his vividness and crispness. He seems very much there and very much real.

I've been collecting furry art since 1996.
I have directories for every species imaginable, in which I place those pics I deem worthy.
I was just forced to create a possum directory.
I think possums are a bit scary looking, but I'll save it anyway, cause damn, the detail on this, particularly the fur, is amazing!
