Here we have the always lovely Shato engaging in one of her all time favorite activates, hawking. If you've ever wondered what Shato gets up to in her alone time when she's not taking care of the hatchlings, flying space ships, or spending time with me - now you know :) Shato enjoys nature a lot, and she is a great lover of birds - particularly the Raptor species (birds of prey).


She's actually spent a number of years of her life in the real world working with them, and we're aiming to get her back at it in the future as well *smiles* The species depicted here is her top choice in hunting companions, a Harris Hawk. If you ever want to know anything about these birds, or pretty much any other, just ask Shato and she will shower you with interesting information.


It's not entirely evident in the picture, but Shato's legs and those of the hawk are of the same design (maybe there's some avian in her ancestry somewhere along the line ). This anatomy is very non-intuitive and its always hard to get it right in a drawing. I wanted to extend a special Thank You to Natoli who spent some extra time and study to get this done right and to Shato's satisfaction (and that was no easy task since Shato was suffering from several weeks of phenomena at the time and therefore a little testy!).
