this one is rather unique in all my years of commission 40k themed pieces from people.

the Shadow Captain you see here is unique in that instead of using one of the dozens of warhammer 40k books for this one to be done by Lizardbeth I brought to her the physical model itself... a friend of mine a while back knew I had the model and hadn't touched it yet and borrowed it for some painting as he wanted too... a while later he returned to me the fully finished assembled and painted piece.

so the colors of Korvaydae you see here are the actual color layout on the model itself that my friend did... freaking awesome! thanks Liz for doing such an awesome job ^.^

for those who don't know Korvaydae is the "disgraced" captain of the Raven Guard. he lead a task force of Raven guard and Imperial guard to an Ork Held world where the target was an ork big mek of remarkable skill and as such was deemed a necessary target to terminate in order to greatly help turn the tide of the war against the Orks.

instead of Sacrificing his guard allies to get the target, Korvaydae marshaled his forces and went to their aid and saved and help evac many of them from the FUBUR mission. Despite having taken out some of the warboss' and other leaders the mek got away and even though some of the momentum was lost the mission was still classified as a tragic and horrific failure, to such a level that now Deliverance itself has been deemed threatened by the Orks making the chapter master give out a call to all companies out in the galaxy to return home to protect it.

Korvaydae himself for his failure stood before his chapter master and volunteered duty in the Deathwatch for no less then a decade to atone for his failure. one will only know what will happen to the homeworld of this First founding chapter or to all the worlds now threatened by the Waagh.
