now this.... this is just simply an Awesome piece! you have no idea how much I love this one and makes me want to sit down with MS Paint and just try to color it.
for those who know of 2nd edition and early 3rd Chaos Space Marines got a special character hwo was decent but not the best. his name was Doomrider quite literally a warhammer 40K version of Ghost Rider with a few twists... I mean his 'gun' on the bike is a twinlinked Melta gun, he didn't deploy on the table he is literally summoned into play bursting straight out of an Icon of Slaanesh and even though he was a biker he had the stats of a bloody deamon prince! so you think he was amazing and all and kicked all sorts of ass but sadly in fact he is completely and utterly random to the point that most people didn't use him.... dispite his abilities and all Doom had the flaw that at the end of every player turn you had to take a leadership test if you failed it it was Deamonic Instability he 'popped out' and disappeared for the rest of the game and counted as a dead model. when he was on the table though is great.
now when Bar-1 did this for me we couldn't help but were having a full on Metalocuplse(sp) moment and more so we were just none stop doing Doctor Rockso jokes... as such this theme and joke like got added to the picture be it on purpose or not *laughs* as such the lone standing joke we have between bar and myself is that Doom Rider here is screaming "I'm Doctor Doomrider... the Rock and Roll Biker.... I DO COCAINE!!!"
while on that matter kids... don't do drugs... ever! *points at you all* they are bad for you... after all this guys head is on fire! :P

bar-1 is one of those undervalued artists sadly. he is just amazing at doing work and can do it all, adult, clean, mecha, etc the whole nine yards just I find he isn't as visited as other artists... every year I know he is at a con I go to see him. if not to get a new 40k pic but also to talk nerd and hang out with a friend ^.^
possibly, right now i'm using the designs and such from the 40k books as they are shown. now I do have plans to get Moloc of the Minotaurs done and he is kinda cataphractii armour though is much more tartarus pattern. we shall see on how things go. I do plan though that when I get a new sketch book and the books I want I will start up a Pre-heresy 40k book using those designs including abbadon in cata armour.
aye that he is :) but his model has him as a regular sized guy so he is effectively a power armoured marine with a deamon princes stats riding a deamonically enchanced chopper :P quite fickle and he did have the chance to pop out and disappear on the turn he arrived but hey when he arrives or at least in games I saw him and he stuck around he was quite cool to watch :) sadly I never got to use him and play with him in time before he was removed from the books. I was kinda hoping one of the rumours of the 6th edition book was true in that he was coming back.
*shi nods* you can kinda make Cypher now by having a Chaos lord with a Plasma and Bolt pistol, won't get to ignore armour saves in close combat but does gain the ability to fire both weapons in each shooting phase and overwatch due to the "duelist' USR on pistols.
I would think you would need also the Murder Sword for the slaaneshi Lord just so he has the high chance to take someones head on the way by :P but ya brand bike mark of slaan is a good start *shi jots down notes for later*

Doomrider was so '80s, when CSM of Slaneesh were rockers. A bit of glam rock, by the way. Like that guy on the new codex, purple with lepoard skin parts.
That would be so cool, playing against a band of metalheads and head-bangers while listening do Death Metal and screaming over the table to each other...

ya I do wish one day they will bring doom rider back into the game because ya I know he was so ridiculous in the story and cheesy 80s metal bands but I rather had fun playing with him the couple of times I got the chance and I wish I could use him in game again maybe with an updated model too! that would really make my day!
