Heard that they're thinking of releaseing the code for folks to run a SL server.

What’s SL?

Second Life is an online 3D chat room world type environment. Some call it a video game, I don't see it that way. It is a large 3D world built mostly by the members themselves. You can visit places that are replicas of the Starship Enterprise, or your avatar can run though Mario or Sonic games. This was a screen capture of one of my old builds. It was built to make you feel shrunken. Second Life still exists, it actually looks a lot better than this screen grab today. It is free to join and explore, start at SecondLife.com.
