Baby crows are the best at turning into a feather loaf. Soundwave remains king of the folding stool perch.

Always needing attention, trying to take apart anything and everything, hiding meat in any available crevice, pooping on everything else, yelling at the outside birds, and generally destroying anything they can get their beaks on. Because they're so freakishly intelligent, you gotta keep a crow entertained. They've been known to get suicidal in captivity, and I mean that literally. They'll drown themselves in their water dishes if they're unhappy.
83 Oh yes. Any spare time I've got, it goes to him. Especially since right now he's fledging, and wants to fly eeeverywhere.
I've never had one of my birds get so depressed on me, as I work very hard to keep them happy, but I've seen it happen while they're in the hospital for an injury. It can take six weeks to heal a broken wing, and even trying hard to keep them happy, some crows just decide they can't handle it anymore, and they'll put themselves out of their misery. It's especially frustrating, because you can't tell them they'd have been released in another week.

Aw, jeez. That really must be hard. It must make you feel really good to know that you're taking amazing care of your own birds, though. <: I peeked through your gallery and saw the image of Corbin (i think his name is) trying to figure out your air compressor thing. He looks like, "Mom, I really need to use this." XD He's adorable.
It is a mark of pride with me that all my birds are happy, healthy, and don't show any stress behaviors from being in captivity. Unfortunately, Corbin passed away this February from complications with his brain damage. He started going downhill around Christmas, and I just couldn't get him to turn around. He'd been hit by a car when he was about two months old, and it left him with quite a bit of damage. I feel bad I couldn't save him, but I gave him the best couple months he could hope for, and he didn't die alone on the road, or eaten, or starving.
I think the only difference between a crow and a cockatoo, is that 'toos have a large beak and the instinctual drive to destroy anything destroy able xD
I've had my 'too for 13 years, she's certainly a special case in that she is a pretty calm/quiet bird unless in the presence of loud people or hearing small kids babble in the distance x)
I've only seen a pied crow super up close and he had to have all his secondaries cut because those birds are just so light and nimble xD

Oh, crows manage just fine to destroy things, even without the can-opener beak. 8> They just stab holes into everything first, then commence with the tearing it to shreds.
I'm fledging Soundwave here, and will be leaving him flight-capable, as he's got a few upcoming roles in movies where the crow needs to be able to fly. That's why he's got those anklets on, to allow him to wear jesses like a falconry bird when we're outside.
