This is probably on the corner of "way too many details" street, but hopefully it's still working out alright. I hope with the next few pieces I can do more lighting/texture/whatever studies (and consequently not feel pressured to go crazy with details) XD


Speaking of studies, do you usually do many before you start working? I wanted to try out some different ones for potential lighting schemes/whatever for the next few big paintings I do.

Daaaaang that's awesome. You seriously have one of the most unique and recognizable painting styles around. I love how you can mesh a realism/conceptart look with expressionist colors and paint strokes.

Just wondering... when you say "playmat" do you mean a play mat for a D&D game or something similar? I'm not really familiar with card games and the like, so I have no clue what that means, haha. It just looks like something from a D&D thing.
