Life in the Slums P2: Trade with Ryogarudewolves (rough)
After 2 months of writers block here is the rough draft of part 2. Hope you enjoy!
Ryoga was in elation as he bolted for the destination. His legs were weak, but Ryoga did not let this bother him as he sprinted down the roads. Block by block, step by step, Ryoga could feel a warm and loving hold of his mother to be around his small frail body. Though this was not to be. As he rounded the corner to drop off the package, he was caught by 2 cops.
“What are you doing here?!” one of the cops shouted. A bull of tremendous size he struck fear dead into Ryogas eyes.
“Don't scare him!” Replied a lion. By this time the bull had picked up Ryoga by the waist and was holding him, as the bull was trying to fenagle the package out of Ryoga's arms.
“Alexander Stay out of this. You are to easy on this street punks!”
“Yeah, but that does not mean you get to hurt the kids!” Alexander Replied in anger as a flare of fire spit out of his mouth!
Ryoga was caught in the middle and quickly made up a story. “Look, I am running this to my grandmother just a few blocks away from here. I am sorry if I intruded but I need to get there! SO PUT ME DOWN!”
“Fat Chance Kid!” Exclaimed the Bull, as he Threw ryoga into the back of the cop car. “You are truant and I am taking you in.”
“Kyle! Your going to give this kid's family grounds for brutality!”
“Stuff It Alexander! I have seen this kid around, and he has no family, no gang to protect him. He is just a worthless piece of shit! I am sending him to Juvie!”
“You, know what. I am going about the investigation! You can derilect your duties but I will not!”
With their argument over, Kyle got in the car, and told Ryoga, “Your going away for a long time punk. Shit heads like you get the book thrown at them! And I am sure what ever is in that box you have will seal the deal for my big promotion!”
“LET ME GO! I need ot get this package to my grandma! You have no idea how important it is. She NEEEEEEEDS it!”
The Car was driving along to the station as the destination passed by, The Orca was there, and he was LIVID! Ryoga watched as all his dreams burned up into ash on the wind, as the cop car passed by! “You were running drugs for that man weren't you! I saw it in his eyes!”
“No My Grandma lives next door, it is her medicine!”
“Yeah, that is the story The Orca gave you to tell me! I know you got meth in that box. Why else would it be so tightly sealed!”
“It is medicine for my grandma! You have ot belive me!” Ryoga was crying now. Pleading to be let go before they arrived at the station, but sadly it was no good. Kyle was to adamant to let Ryoga go free, and as such, Ryoga was stuck in jail.
The Trial was over quickly, and Ryoga got no fair trial by any standard. The Orca had arrived and told the court that Ryoga was in fact running medicine from a pharmacy to his grandmother, but the jury did not believe a word of it! The Orca had also stated that Kyle PLANTED the meth on Ryoga to get the charges. With no luck, Ryoga was sentenced to 10 years in Juvenile hall! The Orca had one thing to say to Ryoga before he got carried off. “You are a brave lad to do what you did for me. I knew you were going to get caught.”
This not only angered Ryoga, but also scared him to death! The Orca drug lord, knew what was going to happen, and pinned it all on him! That bastard! How dare he destroy a child like this! How dare he ruin MY LIFE! HOW DARE HE FUCK WITH ME! This rage hardened once Ryoga arrived at Juvie.
Though the world around him was different the life was not harder, but infact a lot easier. Three solid meals a day. All of them hot and fresh. No rot, no mold, not staleness; just good food. Access to exercise equipment, and people willing to call him friend, allowed ryoga to get stronger as he aged in juvie. The time there was not all sunshine and dasies though. In every day there must be a little shade.
Several of the 'big' boys in the hall would often single out Ryoga and beat him to a pulp, though in the time it took the leader of the groups to get at ryoga, one or two of the 'lackeys' would be on the floor in pain. Ryoga was learning how to defend himself, and efficiently too. This, however, only made him a bigger target, when The Orca would visit him in jail.
On one particular visit, The Orca had brought a gift for ryoga. It was a special amulet! “This belonged to my own son, who looked a lot like you. It is one of the reasons I picked you for the job the day you got arrested. He wore this amulet and it kept him safe in shadows. You are so much like him. I could not just take you in, lest people think ill of me and take that weakness to ruin all my plans for you. This trip to juvenile hall has been good to you.”
“Yes it has you assho....WHAT! You mean you knew this would actually be good for me?”
“Yes. I did this for you, so that you could come back to the streets and fight!. You will be out at age 15, and I will have filed for adoption, then emancipate you! So you can live on your own with out fear of arrest!”
“Th...Thank you! Here for these last 8 years, I have hated you, and treated you like shit, when I could have been embracing your kindness.”
“Don't be ashamed. Without that hatred you would not have grown into the strong young man you are today!”
The guard shouted over the conversation, “TIMES UP EVERYONE! Time for you to say good by and leave!”
That night Ryoga put on the amulet and though to himself about what this meant. Surely the amulet was just some trinket The Orca had given him to look good. There was no such thing as magic was there?
