The Stare doesn't really work once the animal realizes it's just an intimidation tactic.

... also, scaring her to lower her stance helps too as indicated by her attempt at flying away. (That's a nice touch with those ground markings by the way.)

Her leg is secure in the ground, right? It looks like she might lean down forward. Hopefully, the stone made from Cockatrices is durable stuff!
