I don't usually post a lot of the fanart i draw but i figured this guy fits in with all my other reptilian/amphibious characters. Plus he's awesome and he's Buscemi. I haven't seen Monsters U yet, i don't have the courage to go see kids movies in the theaters anymore so i'll probably rent it. I'm curious to see young nerdy Randall. XD

Monsters U is definitely worth seeing in the theater. We went to see it last week. I wouldn't really worry all that much about the kids. Most parents seem to take their kids to see the 3-D version instead of the 2-D, our theater was nearly empty, everyone was in the 3-D section.
I love your take on this character! I really love his mouth and eyes and the colors used. Also, I really like his hands as well!
You should reconsider seeing it in theaters. Personally, I think it's all the more relatable as an adult than it would have been for me as a kid, since in some ways it reminded me of my own experiences in college.
When I saw it, I noticed quite a few adults in the theater without kids, so I don't think you'd be alone. Though I'm sure when (what time, day, or how many weeks the film has been in theater) you go would factor into it as well.
