Back in the '60s, Mad Magazine's Don Martin did a cartoon titled "The High Dive."

Our hero launches himself into mid air then spots he is still wearing his expensive watch.

We watch him flai around on the way down and just before he hits the water, badly, he flings the watch over to the side.

As he drags himself up to the side of the pool, we watches the gardner drive over his watch with the lawn mower.
