Either a flat inflatable, or if the victim is organic I would think they would deflate like an inflatable and the metroid would leave a and air plug where they bite them.

Nope, the people saying turn to dust are right~ In true Metroid nature, an inflatable drained of its air by one will crumple into dust. It's seen in the story I wrote of this scenario: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10997198/
