I lost my ibizan, Shiner, on August 4th, 2011. Even almost two years later, I find myself turning around to look for her.

This poem really hits home and speaks to me on so many levels. When my cat died, it wasn't sudden. But it wasn't something I could get used to. After she passed on there were times I would just look at her treats and untouched toys and just not know what to do. It was a very empty, sad feeling.
It sucks sometimes, there are times when I'll break down and have a cry but I always end up smiling because I have so many good memories of her. This is why I share this stuff, and why I do my best to appreciate my friends..Shiner helped teach me how to love myself and she helped teach me that making people smile is a wonderful thing.
I really do appreciate knowing you, Meggy.
