Just some colored soft PVC foil, a round cutter and PVC glue (UHU in this case). Also a pair of swim wings from a local supermarket. You'll probably also want some large paper sheets for sketching your shapes out before cutting them (all I had at hand was A4 so the shape is predictably small) and of course a surface you can cut on without worrying about ruining the dinner table.

The most annoying part was that the glue needs to dry for about 10 minutes before you join the pieces, that's a lot of waiting. My lacking accuracy with the cutter wouldn't matter much with a larger shape but I'd really like a better method of joining pieces.

interesting, reminds me I need to get my stuff out to try and finish off, but I thought to try melting the seams with a soldering iron, it'll be harder, I'm sure

Yes though for my first tries I used single layer and had to deal with the stupid protective foil.

protective foil? did you have to like peel it off or something? I'm gunna pick upa vinyl welder and try making a few toys at some point as well. I already know how to weld vinyl with an iron.

Yeah, the single layer type has a clear plastic foil on the glossy side to protect it against scratches.

does it come off a roll like other fabric? how wide are the sheets?

As it says there on the page, width is 130cm. Yeah, they come on a big roll like fabric.
