Nor do I.. People call the emo, but they're far from it. There's plenty other bands way more deserving of the title, like Dashboard Confessional, or Ben Folds Five, for example.
But y'know.. people latch onto the things that 4chan and similar sites say and do, because they want to feel like they're being "cool".
