INFO TIMES
Personality: A very extroverted individual. Meredith is always willing to strike up a friendly conversation with someone, even if that someone is a completely random stranger. She is very comfortable in social settings and interracting with others. Though Meredith is a good listener when she needs to be, she prefers to be the one doing most of the talking and, if given the chance, will most likely talk someone's ear off. She also has tendancy to subconciously reach out and touch the hand or arm of the person she is talking to, which sometimes causes issues. When not in a social setting, Meredith tends to get upset when left alone for too long or often becomes clingy if left with one other person.
Occupation: Meredith is, and has been a waitress at the local town diner for most of her life. Though it is far from being a classy and high-paying job, Meredith loves her line of work and most likely would not trade it for anything. Having worked there for so long, she has an excellent relationship both her co-workers as well as most of the regulars and considers the little restaurant a home away from home.
Little Bitty Bit of a Bio : Raised by her grandparents, Meredith grew up in a strict but loving hosehold. At 17 she started a part-time job at the local diner as a way of saving for college and eventually began a relationship with Richard, a frequent weekend customer. Despite their vastly different and clashing personalities the relationship continued for a short time and, after becoming pregnant with Richard's child, the two reluctantly got married (Richard to protect his reputation and business, and Meredith to ensure financial stability after moving out of her grandparents' home due to the family problems caused by her unexpected pregnancy) Miserable with her home life, Meredith focused all her attention on taking care of her son (Harlie), becoming somewhat of an obsessive mother. After Harlie left she began to put all her extra time into working again, the diner being one of her only other sources of happiness until meeting and befriending George
Extra
Affair : Meredith and George began having an affair some time after their friendship developed. Meredith's husband, Richard is unaware of this mostly due to the fact he assumes George is a homosexual (because of his appearance and personality). The two are relatively active for their age and often engage in role plays, breaking out the fuzzy handcuffs and police hats on occasion. Both Harlie and Linda are aware of their parents' affair though both feel differently on the matter
Checkers : Meredith has a strange obsession with all things red and white checker patterned and often likes to use such things in her decorating(ex. checkered curtains, checkered table cloths, checkered bed sheets, etc..) no matter how tacky they may look to everyone else.
Driving : Meredith's driving habits are questionable at best. Speeding, missing stop signs, sharp, unexpected turns and the occasional accidental hitting of small animals are often daily occurrences on her outings. Despite her reckless driving, Meredith is not prone to road rage and is often oblivious to the discomfort of her passengers.
Scrapbooking : In her spare time, Meredith likes to do small arts and crafts activites. Though she occasionally takes up sewing, her favorite activity is scrapbooking which she uses to document just about each and every interesting moment of her, her child/grandchild's, and her signifigant other's life.
Snout Honks: Meredith's way of showing affection to her loved ones is to give them a little pinch on the tip of their snout. Though she mostly does this to George, it is not a strictly romantic gesture and she also tends to use it on Harlie, Linda and Harlin as well.
Smoking In her younger years, Meredith was a moderate smoker. She is over this addiction for the most part but sometimes gives in if overly stressed or upset.
CHARACTER INTERRACTIONS
(i'll probably add more to ths later pssh)
Harlie: "Harles". Meredith's son and, pretty much her whole world. Even though Harlie is an adult and living far away, Meredith still continues to try to be a loving and supportive mother and she will often talk about him to anyone that will listen. The two are very close, despite Harlie's often inability to show outward affection. Despite their closeness, they occasionally tend to have some personality conflicts. This is mainly the case due to Harlie being overly protective of his mother and very distrusting of her partner, George.
GeorgeGeorgie" Meredith's romanitic interest and "affair partner" The two became friends while on a trip to visit their children and eventually developed feelings for each other. With Meredith being sociable and talkative and George being shy and quiet, the two's personalities often tend to balance each other out. Besides the "romantically involved" aspect of their relationship, Meredith considers George her best friend and enjoys his overall company and despite the few little quirks both posess, the two get along almost perfectly although Meredith sometimes wishes george would be more assertive, especially in romantic situations.
Richard :"Richie" Meredith's husband (or ex-husband depending on timeline). The two do not love each other and are married more for convenience than anything else. Though Meredith often tries to be friendly towards her husband in order to keep at least some sort of peace however, due to his alcoholic tendancies and desire to be left alone, this usually dosen't work. Additionally, Richard is physically, verbally, and emotionally abusive to his wife and will often take out the smallest frustrations on her. Needless to say the two do not have feelings toward each other at all ( with Richard seeing meredith more like property than someone he married). Meredith feels no guilt toward Cheating on him.
Linda In addition to being good friends, Meredith considers Linda somewhat of and adopted daughter and adores all the hugs and attention the albino blacorite gives her. Meredith often recieves relationship advice from Linda. Although mildly uncomfortable with discussing her relationship at first(due to Linda being George's daughter), Meredith has since gotten over this and is, for the most part, open to talking about it around Linda.
Harlin: Meredith loves her grandson despite his many quirks and problems. On visits, she loves nothing more than taking Harlin on outings, spoiling him, and taking many photos for her scrapbooking. She also enjoys talking about him almost as much as she does talking about Harlie.
