As a Lord, and more importantly, a Lord employed by the University, Lord Grey II is expected to keep up with advances in his field as well as conducting research and classes. A good book is an archmage's best friend, so the extensive volumes in the University Library are a social circle on steroids. His shabby-though-fine red coat is a frequent visitor to the Library, usually occupied by the feline, and Grey is known to practice theory without bothering to leave first.

He also has a flair for the dramatic and likes showing off to students.

Honestly,  ophelya does not get enough attention.
