And finally: Here is a typical view of Knoebel's Grove from within the park. Buildings, rides, monuments, stands...EVERYTHING is built around the trees rather than plowing em all down for convenience-sake. The result is a one-of-a-kind atmosphere thats cool, relaxing and homey. Even when the park is packed, there's always plety of shade and a bench or picnic talbe SOMEwhere to chill and relax. The park also features an old and somewhat outdated notion...No main gate or admission fee. Its free to come and go as you please (free parking even!!) In the wee hours of the morning (daylight hours only) you're even allowed to jog the park or ride bicycles through it so long as you're out by opening time.
While I could've taken a pic of a ride or more impressive structure in the park, I chose the view of their re-creation of the Planting of the flag atop Iwo Jima. As a former active-service Marine, its symbolism and awe-inspiring presence are things ingrained within me that I'll always respect, admire, and honor.
