If you are planning on having this printed out, how big is the model going to be? Plastic extrusion or powder-based?
Reason I'm asking is because depending on the size of the model (IE, unless it's pretty damn big) there are going to be some fiddly bits that probably won't print especially once they're hollowed out, or if they do print -- they'll run the risk of snapping right off during removal of the support material! It sucks but depending on size and such you are going to have to compromise on some of the finer details to make it print-friendly.
I am especially concerned with those tendril things on the neck. If you can I'd suggest 'cheating' with those, making them lie flat along the neck rather than woogle out in all directions. The woogling looks cool, but those will present a serious issue for a printer.
It's a lovely model and it'd be awesome to see it printed out! Sorry if I've come across as a bit of a wet blanket.

The planned size of the model will be around 5-6 inches long unless I can get it slightly larger from Shapeways, and I should be going with a powder-based method.
I am fully aware that the print will end up much less detailed than in this model, but had thought I had dealt with the tendrils in a way that they would remain relatively structurally sound. If they end up not being so, I will go an move them to collude with the body/neck directly as you have described.
Nah, wet blankets are sometimes useful - they keep one practical XD. Thanks so much for your comment!

Thank you so much Necro! I should be putting up prices in a brand new journal/submission some time soon - I'm still a bit worried on price ranges being so very much out of people's ranges, but I have to keep myself fed, and respect the time taken and work done financially.
charge what this is worth and not a penny less you hear me. If you are worried they will be out of someone's price range, don't. You will attract a better type of client for this type of commission and at the very least make just as much money as you would for under pricing yourself, but you will have more time available to you.
