Ælwyn are magical creatures that normally reside with Faeries, Gnomes, and sometimes even Elves. Looking somewhat like a diminutive cross between a griffin and an alphyn, Ælwyn are known for their curious nature. No two Ælwyn are ever alike, and there is much variety in their coat color, markings, ears, horns, wings, and even their tails. It has been suggested that Ælwyn store their magic in their horns - and even though they are quite powerful (for their size!) they are very judicious in their use of magic.

Ælwyn can be found gathering around Faerie circles, and are known to gather in flocks of thousands or more where Elves meet to dance and feast. While they are normally kept as pets, guard-dogs, and even steeds for the smaller magical races, some Ælwyn have been known to befriend humans and in this case they are life-long companions!

Boris is a garden-variety Ælwyn and loves to watch plants grow! While he doesn't eat the fruits of the garden (no one really knows what Ælwyn eat...), his presence does seem to help encourage the plants to grow big! Boris even chases away flies, beetles, and slugs - although he loves fireflies because he feels a kindred connection with them (probably because his horns glow, and they don't eat his plants.)

Each Ælwyn is hand-made, one of a kind, with love. I use needle felting techniques, and build them up using a wire armature skeleton and foam-base. They are fully poseable - from their bodies, to their limbs (including wings!) and even their ears!
