Here we see me using my straw for the other great way to keep cool, taking a drink of ice water which the hotel staff and con staff liberally supplied us with. I drank a TON of water too while in suit. I probably had to have a drink any time i walked passed one of these things, although probably not quite that much.

That was one of my favorite Dr. Suess stories.
At Furnal Equinox this weekend the headless lounge at first had these really long and narrow straws; I couldn't drink anything out of them and went into a coughing fit. I mentioned this to the con chair (who is a friend of mine) and shortly thereafter they had shorter thicker straws that gave me no trouble.
