I didn't want to stress her (I'm pretty sure it's a girl, her cere is all pinkish brown with no blue at all on it) out too much because she isn't hand tame and quite scared of this whole new life she was thrust into this afternoon so I sat a good distance away and put my big lens on my camera and took some quick snaps shots of her.
She seemed to be like "wtf you doin?" while I was doing it, if you move to quickly around her tho she bounces away. So it's slow movements for awhile.
She seems to not give any craps about the dog running around playing on the floor tho, probably cause she's far above him.
No name yet, I want her to calm down and let her personality show before I pick one.

Anyway her story, about a year ago (Spring of 2012) she was found out and about in Colorado raiding a bird feeder. She was caught and brought to a local songbird rehabber who also rescues parrots. After about 6 months of calling other rescues and putting up fliers no owner game forward. So she sat with all the other birds who were unwanted that this rehabber lovingly takes in and cares for.
Today she came home to me where I'll attempt to hand-tame her which I know won't be easy and will take A LOT of time and patience.
Either way she will receive lots of love and attention and I will care for her the rest of her life.

Her age is unsure but she was found last year in the spring outside flying around Colorado in the cold. So she is an adult. She has an ID band so when she lets me sit and look at her legs long enough I can probably read it and figure it out.
Her chest and belly are like the sky with white puffy clouds on it. I'm leaning towards the name Sky or Cloud.

It depends on their variety as well, some never get lighter irises.

Definitely a girl :)
And a very beautiful one too! I'm jelly x3
Good luck with the hand taming. She looks a bit older, I hope it will catch on. If you manage to do it, let me know how you did it so I can try it with my 4 rescues (one of them has a similar story to your girl, only that it was us who found him outside and caught/kept him)

I joined a Budgie forum and I think I'm going to try this method one of the members developed. I've had quite a few people post on my into post telling me they had great results this way. http://talkbudgies.com/showthread.php?t=108858
Maybe this link will help her warm up in her new home: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hz6L8dlGYkQ
