SFOP locals of Pirkanmaa!
Before known as SFOL-team dosen’t take the game too seriously. They think that the one of the main goals of this sport is just to have fun because it is not sport that people compete each-other.
SFOP was originally born in the outback of Lempäälä-town. Today the groups engineer and second of the original members Jesse Nio but the team together then. Then there were 5 members. Originally we didn’t want to just “frag ‘em all”, but when the team grew bigger, it was time for change. Team kept transforming from team to platoon as friends came and went.
Soon after the begin of the SFOP-crew ended up mixing with the local beginning airsoft community called Pirkanmaasoft. Time passed and Pirkanmaasoft community grew bigger and today many of SFOP-members are in lead of this community. Though same time the team happening was strong, the games merely changed from our own to community games.
Now the members also go to bigger games out side of Pirkanmaa. It’s not that were they could play. It’s more where they let them play. They play fair etc. but it is our twisted sense of humour that gets them in to trouble. Their inside jokes are not for everybody and our game style isn’t usually every gamers way of fun. But their main rules are to be honest, cool/relaxed and generally smiling. Well, their motto tells it all “How do you kill us who have no life?”. People should not take this thing dead seriously.
In the big group there are many kinds of members. There are those who like to power-play. There are those who like more mil-sim and of course those that like just basic airsoft. Some of the group can’t get to play every week end, others can’t miss any weekend-matches at Decon (airsoft place). SFOP dosen’t search for fame or fortune at the media, they like to remain as a quiet friend-group. They haven’t for example arranged any games.
At bigger games they are known from their woodland-outfits but that’s the only dress-code that they have. They try to make sure that their gears would all look the same but when the time passes the only way really know them is to know them from the patch that they carry in their left arm.
Because SFOP is “only” friend group team which has a primary mission just to have fun is it a known fact that game rosters change time to time as the average age is 18 years. Most of those who can’t come to play every time have hitches. Many of has to study or mandatory army. There are 10 active members and about 20 if those that are not so active are counted. Usually on big games there are those couple active members and couple of those that just happen to have free time then.
At next summer the biggest plan is to take apart to this big game in Sweden called Berget-events. Though only few of them can go there cause other have other things to do at that time. The other way to meet these guys is to come play to Pirkanmaa at week ends and some other big games and at mIRC Quakenet #SFOP . The oncoming year will change our roster once again but our dosen’t depend on one man.
