Trevor was a lynx of high ambition to become a scout and warrior, he was curious to learn more about joining the dracobug swarm, and if it included training for him to further his hunting and capturing skills. Dracobug was more than happy to discuss the swarm, and commented that a common technique they used was a sticky saliva. Trevor was now curious about this, and Dracobug gave him a demonstration, by spitting out a glob of white, adhesive goo that stuck the lynx to the ground like molten spider's web.
Surprisingly, being stuck like this only fascinated the lynx, especially when told it would dissolve in about 10 minutes. Unfortunately for Trevor, the dracobug also told him that was more than enough time to consume whatever was trapped. Trevor learned too late that joining the swarm was a one-way decision, when the massive, clacking jaws of the dracobug simply lowered down and engulfed the stuck feline. And thus ended the career of Trevor, the lynx.
I love the way this came out. The look of Trevor stuck to the ground is wonderful, and I love how his expression maintains that sense of fascination and curiosity, still believing the dracobug was merely discussing and demonstrating the techniques that members of the swarm learn after they join.
Dracobug's drooling jaws look beautifully menacing, and give a view that makes me wish I was sitting where Trevor is, right now. :D
My thanks to Tamera for taking this commission and doing such a gorgeous job with it.
