Part of a trade with Likeshine, who made me a fabulous conbadge. This was intended to be a conbadge as well, but it wanted to be a digital portrait instead.
Suppose it could be a badge though, if ye slapped a name on it.
Anyway, practice with digital colour. I absolutely refuse to use the 'burn/dodge' tools, so I'm practicing more with complimentary colour shading on seperate levels. Works alright; next time though more dramatic lighting I think.

yeah, I hate burn and dodge. I tried them once, but they don't change the colours the way I would like. Dodge can be handy if I really want to make something kinda glowy or shiny for no damn good reason, but burn kinda... well, makes it look burned. :/ I much prefer choosing my own colours for shading... It's more interesting that way, anyway. :3
