N712Z is one of only three actual Zeros still flying, and one of only two in the U.S. (the other U.S. bird is an A6M5). The Pratt & Whitney engine that powers the plane is one of the only things preventing this Zero from being 100% authentic.
A third flying Zero, stationed in Japan, has its original Japanese-built engine.
