You guys need some perspective on how big these monster hands are going to be. <3
These will be sewn directly to the bodysuit's arms, with a gap at the bottom of the wrist for hands to slip through. I'm likely going to put a couple magnets there to keep that gap closed. c: The fingers, palm, and knuckles are all stuffed with removable polyfil pillows. I'll be putting snaps on them all to keep them in place and make getting hands in and out much easier.

Oh I actually hadn't thought about that. I've known rare earth magnets to be used on suits before, so I didn't give it a second thought. How exactly did you do a rust test? Cause obviously the wrists shouldn't be a high-moisture area, and I would think so long as he's being proactive about starting to dry his suit right after it's washed (mostly cause mildew, ew) would make it okay? I'll have to do a little research. Cause I definitely need a quick-fastening way to keep the wrists closed that he can do on his own.
well...personally one of the two places i sweat from is the wrist . keeping in mind everybodys body is different but still something to consider
for a very similar problem i put little 4" zippers on the insides of the wrists, you may have to add a couple inches to the sleeve length, though.

This is very true! After a preliminary search I found these bad boys which were suggested on an aquarium forum. Someone mentioned that the epoxy chipped if handled roughly, but I planned on sewing fleece over the magnets anyhow.
Oh to mention as to why zippers can't be used: these hands are already less mobile (though surprisingly still pretty dexterous!) than regular fursuit paws, and I can't work a zipper with my normal ones. XD I want to make this suit as self-sustainable as possible, allowing him to get in and out on his own and fix any issues or de-head without someone's help.
oh no no, the zippers are sewn in backwards, so my customer could slip his arms back alittle and manipulate them from the inside
his paws are round and completely lined with batting! even less dexterity than your paws
and yeah our mission statements are the same, gotta keep the well-being of the customer in mind
its why i hate trying to argue this with gear minded bondage furs, they DONT want a way out and its like...that just sounds dangerious

Oh hey there's an idea! I'd actually never thought of putting the zipper in backwards like that. Good thinking!
Yeah as much as I want a suit to look good, and look like the character, my number one goal is to make it as easy to wear alone as a fursuit can be. It's why I don't do zippers in the back, or fully-attached hands, and why when a customer asked if I could put elastic straps on the neck to go under her arms, I suggested we install side release buckles so that if she needed to get her head off quickly, it was possible. I want my customers having fun and looking awesome, but I want them safe, too!
