"Guess who just drew a Polymerization card?"
Recently, I've been getting into an oldie anime. I'm talking Yu-Gi-Oh!...You know, "I'm going to summon monsters to pound your life into dust!"
Well sorta hehehe.
Anyway...aside from some weird voice-over errors in the middle and the obvious exposition of nearly every card played, I've taken a liking to it. (Perhaps the only weird thing is that main guy's hair. Yugi...how the heck did you get black/red/gold hair that stands up? No wonder you were picked on in school...)
Have seen all of Duelist Kingdom, then the digital one, and now on with Battle City. I know they got that new Zeal or Zexal or whatever, but I skipped the beat on that one...oh well, I'll follow the original series for now and catch up later.
While the background story is interesting, I just think the thought of summoning monsters...er...creatures (sorry Randall, ahem) to do your bidding, charging them up with magic cards, and slamming a trap when you think your opponent has the lead just gets me fired up to try it out myself!
And I did. Against...ALMA no less 0_0 I know, weird. But apparently she thinks the whole strategy thing is interesting too.
LIKE ANY LEARNING AI, I FIND STRATEGY IN MOST MEDIA TO BE AN INTERESTING STUDY TO PURSUE.
Uhh yeah. So anyway, based my deck off Seto Kaiba. Guy's self-obsessed to the max, but he's got a good round of cards. And hey, how could I NOT pass up the opportunity to get another bunch of "blue dragons" to do my bidding and crush my opponent? It just seemed right! Tahahaha!

On a side note, this is a little reflection on every collectible card game. Well...I'm not a sports guy...so I'm talking Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, the top 3. Yeah, there are others...but it all leads to the same thing in the end.
Nabbing a rare card from a new pack...coming up with awesome combinations...the satisfaction of winning a well-earned victory...and partially, trading.
These days, people focus on consoles and hand-held gizmos and computer games, I'm not immune myself. But there should always be a place for these rectangular batches of goodness every now and then. While the first two "top 3" focus elsewhere, Yu-Gi-Oh gives "the cards" a heart. There's power in them...and you WILL feel it when you draw that winning creature/magic/trap and get the taste of victory!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm "feeling the flow" and have a duel to win!

This was my preferred card game over the 100 others. I was somewhat annoyed about how fast they released new cards though. The newer animes are also a bit lacking. I never got to play against a human opponent, but I made my own deck just in case. It mostly contains cards from 4 other starter decks, including Kaiba's Blue eyes white dragon. Sadly, the only game I ever played was on Yu Gi oh, forbidden memories for the PSX, and I sucked horribly at it. Maybe I'll have to download the Xbox Live version sometime.
How do you think the Pokemon CCG people feel, they keep churning out new ones like there's no tomorrow 0_0
I actually nabbed that but lost it...somehow I got lucky by getting a deck like Kaiba's as my starter...THREE blue eyes! Of course, that game didn't have that whole sacrificing condition I think, so just made things too much of a breeze hehehe.
For the moment, I'm lost with the new stuff. Sacrificing and card effects I get...but overlayers? Number cards? Ok...just building more onto a good thing to make it a little more confusing

It doesn't really make the gamn confusing, just adds new elements so it doesn't get stale like alot of other card games tend to do..
Also the scrifice rule was around since day 1 of the tcg, the original game for yugioh made by bandai didn't use sacrifices however.
