READ PLZ before you start throwing yer hate :B
An important part of commissioning me, is that I simply WILL NOT do MLP commissions, no matter the generation.
Equines are BITCHES to draw for me, their anatomy is tricky and even after long long practise I still haven't really gotten the hang of it. And an important rule for me, personally, is to first learn the proper anatomy before you can simplify it. So yeh.
I am also not really interested in imitating Faust's drawing style. She's probably a great lady, and her style is very cute (though pretty much all the female ponies look the same in regards to bodytype, just with a different hairdo/colour, in my humble opinion), but I'm not one to imitate anyone's style, especially not for money. Just dun' feel right.
Well, and CandyColoured horses fly in with the same feelings I've got for candycoloured fursonas, but that's just a personal pet peeve.
Don't get me wrong, I love the show, and am eager to see hte new episodes, I just don't wanna draw them. I might occasionally for gifts, but it's not something I want to do for commissioned work. I'm not even at a place where I have a pony-style I'm comfortable with, so yeh, how about -no-. |3
So yeah, for clean pony stuff as well as porn (I refuse to call it 'clop art'), there are plenty of artists who'll do that for you. I'm just not one of them ;)
And remember, love and tolerate! And haters gonna hate ;)

Meh, I kinda like the show, though there are a few episodes where possibly Hasbro tried to force in 'TARGET AUDIENCE' a bit too firmly, causing ditzy episodes that haven't really been thought through. Zecora is pretty much my favourite character, personality and appearance-wise, along with Applejack ( apart from being orange, she's a bit more neutral coloured) and Rarity (sure she has a purple mane, but eh, she's still cool ;) )
well the things that annoyed me where
-Twilight--aka the plot-point pony who says she can magic things away....thank you tension-destroyer.
-That one with the rainbows...god she's annoying and a jerk
-the pink one....I can't stand her.
that and I think it can be a bit too garish in background colours. Just because its for kids doesn't mean it has to be always bright and in your face, look at Disney that does so many different styles.
I don't know, MLP is just not my thing x_x

well she did work on Foster's, and for me the weakest part in that was one character--Blue. Good lord was a jerk!
But unlike most haters who simply hate MLP because its for girls....though it doesn't help too much that its a bit explicit for girls--pink horses and all, though its probably Hasbro doing that (it came from the 80's after all). When compared to something like some of Disney's films like Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Mulan or Beauty and the Beast its pretty hard to take seriously. Its too girly, with mostly girl characters doing girly things, whereas the Disney films I mention appeal to more audiences.
Unlike haters, I look at something I don't like and pick it apart to see what I don't like it. For MLP, I don't like some of the characters I mentioned and I think some of the villains are really weak and thrown away without coming back with a vengeance. Discord was fun but then they threw him out and gave him an incredibly weak send-off. And the rest of the villains aren't brilliant either, just evil laughter and nothing else.
At least DrWho knew to keep the Daleks, since they're some of the best villains ever.

Well in my opinion your horses look amazing, don't be so tough with yourself dear! <D
But I think it's your good right to not draw Ponies and all, I seriously hope you (or, hopefully, nobody) ever received hate for refusing to draw something. I mean come on, an artist should feel comfortable with what they draw, or the drawing might turn out horrible.
So I think it's even better of you to simply not offer to draw them instead of doing Pony commissions just for the sake of money. :T
Stay to your principles! There are a lot of other awesome things you're able to draw for commissions anyway >u<

Awwwww, that's so sweet of you, thanks ^^
Yeah, doing commissions might be partly about earning money, but for me it's largely doing something I enjoy and can have others enjoy as well, and it's feels unfair both to me and the recipient if I have to do something that I don't enjoy personally. It always shows when something is drawn with less love because the artist didn't enjoy it as much.
Thanks a lot ^^ Sometimes The Interwebz makes artists feel like they should just 'shut up and take the money', especially considering the current assbuttery going on in the financial world, so sticking to your principles can be a little intimidating at times, but it's the support from people like you that makes it worthwile C:
