Have you ever wanted to be a super hero? I know many people have had at least one fantasy where they had powers of one type of another, but whether they were a hero of villain is up to them.

STORY BEYOND HERE
"Hurry up the building can't take much more!" Logan side stepped just as a large chunk of debris crashed into the floor. Looking back he saw the rescue crew members hauling out several men and women who'd gotten trapped.
"I need to make one more sweep of the building, I have to make sure no one else is in here!" Logan watched the rescuers for a moment longer before he began moving into the building when he heard the same man call out again.
"Be quick! This place only has a little time left before it gives out!" Logan moved through the debris, each second more came cascading down around him and it was becoming more difficult to get through. It seemed the more he looked the emptier this place was and he was about to turn back when he heard someone crying. Logan's ears perked up as he honed on in the resounding crying and got moving in the direction.
With each step he took the crying got louder and he could make out it was a young pup, probably no older than four or five. "Mommy... please get up!" Logan took a few more steps forward and he saw the young pup. Just a little lion kid, he was sitting next to his mother who was pinned unconscious beneath a large slab of debris. Logan took a step forward, nearly scaring the kid to death who looked up at him, marveling at his strong muscled physique and the red insignia on his chest that everyone knew by now and he stood up and wiped his tears away. "You're V-Virtice Wolf!"
Logan smiled and crouched down, ruffling the little lion's small mane. "Indeed i am, although most call me Virtus Wolf, but you'll get it someday, now what happened?" The lion cub sniffed and rubbed his nose.
"W-we were walking when e-everything started m-moving. My m-mommy got down on her k-knees and held me close, b-but I heard a loud noise from up there~" the cub pointed upwards where a gaping hole was in the ceiling. "A-And my momma pushed me away and there was this loud b-boom... and... when I looked... s-she was stuck under there and she won't talk to me." By this point the tears had started falling again and the cub was on the verge of sobbing. Logan reached his hand out and placed it on the cub's head.
"It's going to be okay, I'm going to get your mom out of there ok? What's your name?" The little cub shivered as he struggled to stop crying.
"D-Dylan."
"Well I'm going to get your mom out Dylan don't worry." Logan stood up as another rather large chunk of debris crashed from the ceiling and he narrowed his eyes. Placing his hands underneath the edge of the large debris he grunt as he began pulling up, his biceps swelling up to their great peaks of strength and the debris groaned, slowly rising up a couple inches before it began sinking again and Logan gritted his teeth.
There was no way in hell he was going to let these two die on his watch. Slowly he closed his eyes and began breathing, and he felt the familiar fizz of energy coursing through his veins and he could hear his heart beating hard as his blood surged. As he opened his eyes he watched in satisfaction as his body began growing larger, his biceps and chest began to swell to new heights of raw power, his body growing taller as his abs took on another row of definition and his legs became thicker and the definition was much more visible.
The cub gasped in wonder as his watched this transformation unfold, his sadness being pushed aside. "Y-You are getting bigger!" Logan couldn't help a smile as he nodded and began pulling up again, the debris groaning as it shifted, lifting high off the cub's mother and he pushed it aside.
"That's my super power, I can make my muscles grow at will." The lion cub looked down at his mother as the wonder slowly faded and he began tugging on her sleeve again.
"Mommy please get up." Logan reached down and he picked up the cub who yelped at being lifted into the air. "W-What are you doing?
"I'm making sure you stay safe and don't fall behind." Logan set the cub down on his shoulders, who leaned forward and grasped Logan's chin, clinging to it tightly. Logan squatted down so he wouldn't knock the cub off and he scooped up the mother in his shoulders and he backed up just as another large piece of debris came crashing through, landing right where the mother had been and he took a step back.
That had been too close, another moment and she would have been crushed to death. "Alright Dylan let's get out of here." The shivering cub could barely do more then make a small squeak. Logan whirled around on his paws and began moving back through the debris, his steps careful and precise to avoid tripping, and to avoid stepping into the way of any falling debris.
It took only a couple moments for him to reach the door, and he could see the rescue crew gesturing for him to hurry up. As he got closer there was a loud rumble and he back to stop and take shelter next to a pillar as a large pile of debris came tumbling down onto the entrance.
Logan opened his mouth to let out a curse, but his bit his tongue when he felt the cub squeeze tighter. "W-What do we do now?" Logan moved closer to the debris and he could heard the rescuers yelling, but amidst the noise of the crumbling structure he couldn't make them out very well. He realized he would have to break out of here if he wanted to save this cub and his mother.
Stepping closer to the door Logan took a deep breath, his chest swelling up a bit and he let out a large bellow. "Everyone get away from the entrance now! I am going to break through the wreckage!" Logan didn't have time to sit and wait to see if they listen to him. Carefully setting down the cub's mother he took a deep breath as the cub tugged on his chin.
"W-What are you doing?"
"I am going to break through all this stuff, so I put your mom down so she wouldn't get hurt." Logan stood up and faced the collapsed entrance. Slowly Logan slowed his breathing, and he began clenching and unclenching his right fist, he could feel his heart pumping as his bicep began swelling even higher than before. "Hold on tight Dylan." The cub leaned in close, clinging for his life as Logan rushed forward, fist clenched and he swung, his knuckles striking the debris which began to crack and splinter into thousands of pieces and started crumbling.
Logan backed off, his right bicep deflating to how it was just a moment ago and he picked up the cub's mom, moving through the splintered debris and out into the daylight. There were ambulances, fire trucks, and police cruisers all over the place, people were being examined by doctors, some were being loaded into ambulances to be taken to the hospital.
Several men came over to Logan, two of them set out a stretcher and gently took the cub's mom from his arms and laid her down carefully. When one of them reached out for the cub, he let out a high pitched cry and held tighter to Logan, who gently pried his hands free and picked him up. "What's the matter Dylan?"
"I-I am scared... I don't know them, my momma said not to go anywhere with strangers." Logan smiled, giving the small cub a hug, who gave a small start of surprise before leaning into the hug.
"That's good that you listen to your mom, but these men aren't strangers, they are doctors who are going to take care you and your mom and make you feel all better. So I need you to be brave and go with them ok?" The cub nodded his head slowly..
"O-okay... I’ll be brave, just like you!" Logan grinned, giving him a nod in return.
"Yea just like me." One of the men reached out for the cub again, who took a deep breath and held still, letting him get taken out of Logan's arms and sat down on the stretcher with his mother and they began wheeling them away.
. Logan watched a fair bit of pride as he saw the cub doing his best to be brave around the doctors who were checking him for injuries as they moved.
"Thank you Virtus Wolf, without you those two wouldn't have survived." Logan slowly turned around and looked down at a hedgehog policeman and smiled.
"It was no problem, that's my job."
"Even still, we're grateful for everything you've done" Logan couldn't help but feel a light blush starting to spread on his cheeks and he turned around to cover it. Just as he was about to speak, his watch started beeping and he sighed realizing he was going to be late.
"Well a hero's job is never done, I have to get going." Logan broke off into a run amidst a few cheers as he passed and he swung into an ally. Tensing his legs he jumped, slamming into the wall and using his legs and biceps to push off and to grab the bar of a fire escape and he climbed up, pulling himself up to the roof. Taking a deep breath he went running again, right to the edge of the rooftop, and right as he reached the edge his legs tensed, and he pushed off, leaping clear across the ally way to the next building over.
He continued jumping from rooftop to rooftop until he reached a small neighborhood and he descended to the ground, being careful not to be seen. Slowly he traversed the backyards of the neighborhood, climbing over fences, and being careful not to make any noise until he came to stop in his own backyard. Looking around and making sure no one was watching he opened his backdoor and slipped inside. Once inside he let out a small breath and he closed his eyes and he could feel his body shrinking a little as he returned to his normal size.
His biceps and chest, deflating back to their normal peak, while his abdomen lost that extra row and a bit of its definition, giving him a more lean look. His legs shrank, returning to their toned look he was used to. Logan sighed as he walked into his room to change out of his costume and stowing it to the hidden compartment under his bed. He grabbed a crisp blue shirt and a pair of jeans and he pulled them on. He always felt a bit strange after returning to his normal size, it was like losing a bit of himself each time he shrank back to normal. Logan looked into a mirror and frowned a bit, noticing that his clothes were a little loose on him and he took a breath, his heart starting to pick up a bit as his body grew just a bit, his body filling out so his clothes were a snug fit. With a satisfied nod he left his room and moved into the living room.
He grabbed his house keys and made sure his backdoor was locked before he left the house. "Great the party starts in a few minutes..." Logan grumbled grouchily to himself as he moved down the sidewalk. He was so preoccupied with his thoughts he didn't notice the wolf girl that stepped in front of him until he bumped into her, knocking her into the grass. Logan snapped into focus immediately and held his hand out. "I'm sorry... I wasn't paying attention." The girl took his hand and stood up.
"It's okay, I wasn't really looking where I was walking either. I am trying to figure out where im supposed to go for this party. My friend invited me, but she gave me horrible directions." Logan stepped a little closer and reached out and grasped a small piece of paper in her hand and gently pulled it free. Looking up, he couldn't help notice the blush that had spread under her white furred cheeks from having him so close to her.
"let me take a look." The girl barely did more than give a small nervous nod as he looked over the paper. "Oh I know where this is, I'm going to the same party. Though I wasn't sure I'd have any fun." Taking a step back he made a obvious gesture of looking her over and a small blush rose up to his cheeks as he realized how beautiful she was. "Then again... I think it'll be more fun than I thought."
Logan smiled when he heard his giggle softly at his attempt at flirting and she nodded. "I wasn't sure if I was going to have any fun either, but I didn't want to say no to my friend."
"Well I think if we went together it wouldn't be as boring, besides I think you need someone to show you where it is, these directions are really bad." The girl smiled brightly.
"That's a great idea, but we haven't even introduced ourselves yet, I'm Lyra."
"My name is Logan it's nice to meet you." Lyra smiled and made a gesture for him to go.
"Well if we want to get to the party, we better get going, otherwise I'll never hear the end of it from my friend."
"Alright, I'll just lead the way then." Logan grinned sheepishly as he began walking and he heard her footsteps right next to his.
~Bzzzzt! Bzzzzt! Bzzzzt! Bzzzzt!~
Logan's eyes slowly cracked open and a he let out a small sigh as he sat up and reached out, clicking off his alarm. He let out a soft yawn and stretched, his back and shoulders popping and he let out a small sigh of relief. "Man, what a weird dream..." Logan shifted out of bed and grabbed his cane as he stood up. "Oh well, time to start another day." Logan rolled his neck a bit as he walked into the bathroom and closed the door.
