It's the deer that people think look like wolves =P

People apparently ignore the antlers and hooves and noses and because the ears are wolfish they should be half wolf half deer XP

But people here on FA get real touchy about anything gay like. And I dont particularly like some of the enraged comments here on FA. One of my comics focuses around a gay couple one of the pair (the antagonist) is a complete douch fag-bag. He is sex-obsessed and mainly focused on a physical relationship rather than a emotional (which the main character finds out he wants more than what he though he wanted before), and the guy hates females (and threatens the hurt the main characters "sister" while the main character is away then try and convinces him that the sister had attacked him first) and is abusive towards anyone who tries and leave him or mention that he should stop being such a horn dog. I tend to notice a lot of people reacting harshly (towards the artist sometimes) on those characters.
Also the comic's world is completely unrealistic and is meant just to be there for the story to unfold to the way I want it but it's really the feelings and relationships that I want to get through as "real." I'm also not sure how the fandom will react to that it being so unrealistic and so. Ugh im just so worried about everything...I procrastinate too much.
Sorry I'm ranting so much
And thankies for supporting me. I'm sorry we don't hangout much anymore XD. We should sometime.

Thank you for your input Sidian :). I means a lot to have your help :)
Im not really sure how to change the head shape traditionally my wolfs have a more "feathered" jaw/cheek area while all others with shorter hair or a smoother face have a smooth roundish jaw/cheek area.
As for the nose I tried to use a Disney like block nose with my own addition in there. I used what I saw from other artists too.
That's why it confuses me so much that I get "told off" (I can't find the right word for it, maybe lectured) for how I draw my deer.

Ahh well if you're not TRYING to make them wolfy at all, this is easily remedied by looking at lots of refs and paying close attention to the details. Look at photos of a deer and a wolf side-by-side and you'll see all the differences pretty much leap out at you.

Yeah when you anthroporphize a prey species you have to add a little artistic liberty there because having eyes on the sides of the head for an anthro would look really bizarre. You can bring them forward without going to the full extent of a canid-looking face, though. Deer in general aren't terribly fluffy, but you can look at caribou or elk in their winter fur if you want an example of how a fluffier deer would look around the edges of the face, etc.
Yeah caribou don't have the black noses AT ALL. They're more like horses http://thumbnails.cbc.ca/maven_lega.....aribou_620.jpg
And you can still have fluff without making it the more recognizably canine 'triangular/pointed' fluff.
I'm always happy to discuss this stuff, I just did a panel on it at a recent convention. XD

I didn't think mine were that "pointed" =P. I tried to make them rounder. and I know they don't have the black noses =O I just like to draw them, makes it easier for me to tell where stuff goes =P
I've always wanted to go to a convention and do a panel but im too scared to do public speaking and I cant afford to go to conventions XP
