I figured out a 180 degree rotational ambigram (look it up ;)) for "dingbat" and got all excited and finished her badge up! This is (let's see) india ink, micron pen, tria marker, assorted colored pencil, white chalk and red conte on brown toned drawing paper. Mixed media ahoy.
And, ad you can see, I've inset a smaller copy of the badge upside-down. It's not a perfectly symmetrical ambigram, but I'm pretty confident it reads the same both ways. :]
I plan to put a clip slot at both the top and bottom of this, so she can hang it either way!

Take a word, turn it upside-down, and fiddle with it to try to make it say the same thing (or something similar) that way. :D
I discovered in high school, while waiting for the SAT to start how to make my realname also say "Snap-dragon-" upsidedown (which is what I was goin' by at the time). I think because they had some sorta spiral thing that said 'einstein' or 'creativity' on the wall, over and over, right side up and upsidedown...

What he (she?) said. ^^ This is something I learned how to do in high school while I was bored (much of the time). Just write the word/words/phrase next to eachother, however you want them to read. Look for similarities in shapes and work on making a single design that can be read both ways. You can also use different words (I have a friend who made an awesome one that reads LIFE one way and DEATH the other!) and different geometry.
www.scottkim.com - this guy is the master. He designed a lot of the digital-company logos that are everywhere now, Sun Microsystems in particular. If you've ever looked closely, it reads "SUN" in four directions. :} He also does a lot of other mathgeek/design stuff that's waaay above my head, ie crazy genius.

Dingbat in awesome green shorts ! Spectacular !!! 0.0
Another thing - the esteemed bat's ambigrammed name that's so impressively haloed in flame resembles traditional Asian calligraphy in some way, and it's a very nice touch. Awesome job on ambigram itself(made me wikilook it).
