Man, I used to like anime until the weaboos/otakus just got so embarassing to be even remotely associated with. I got beat up in highschool for it even, now I can't even stand to look at any of my old mangas, or even speak Japanese in public because I want no association with the anime fan crowd anymore.

I don't even want association with 'fandoms' they infuriate me so much because of the bad stigma and just 80% of the time I get obnoxious fans I interact with that just RUIN the whole thing for me. Be it they are super passionate about it, BLINDLY passionate about it (loving it so much but they honestly have no idea whats going on and are only in it for the HOT PAIRINGS WOWOW), or are just overall elitist assholes about it.

You can't make me touch supernatural with a 10foot pole because of the fanbase. but I was able to see sherlock and doctor who and found them to be pretty good if you push the bias about it to the side.

but gosh every time I show a slight interest in something, there is a wave of people going 'WOW YOU LIKE THIS THING TO? WE HAVE SO MUCH IN COMMON. WELCOME THE THE FANDOM. YOU HAVE ALL THE GREATEST FANDOMS HERE ON THIS IMAGE!!! XDDDDDDDDDDD FOOL! IS IT BAD I CAN NAME ALL THESE?" pretty much the basis of what I got in the comments on this image on DA.

I guess my peeve is when people mislabel things and call a subject/series/any piece of media a 'fandom'. No a 'Fandom' is A COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE. So Soul Eater isn't a fandom, it HAS a fandom.
