Actually, I think the article this illustrates was called "DON'T Do It Yourself". It was about avoiding mistakes while doing home projects. For once I got to draw a cute housewife instead of some old geezer in jeans, with a nose like a pickle, and liver spots all over his map. Of course, there still had to be a husband, and I made him the usual butt of humour. Much of the fun of the picture was working in as many "mistakes" as I could think of in a fairly simple scene. Depending on how you count them, there at least eight.

Hmm, lessee...
--The housewife wearing sandals on the ladder
--A barrel of tar placed at the bottom of the ladder (probably to keep it from sliding)
--The husband attempting to hammer (apparently at full force) a bent nail held between his fingers
--The defective hammer
--Attempting to nail a plank that's already split
--Working directly under a ladder where someone else is standing/working
--Attempting to grasp the ladder and hold the paintbucket at the same time
If the husband was using any sort of power tool, I'd add the necktie and the "bandage" tied around his finger, but that's all I could come up with in a few minutes

You also got the necktie right, though you discounted it You might add nailing the wrong end of a board resting on a fulcrum, but its not clear if the nail is in the short end or not. But you missed carrying a brush upended in your pocket. Pretty good total though, overall.
