Anthrocon 2013 Intro to Fursuiting Panel
My intro to fursuiting panel from Anthrocon 2013.
One of the first panels I've done, a lot of learning experiences with this one. We cover the basics for performance and safety.

Excellent panel. It was very entertaining as well! One question though regarding suit care at these cons: Is it feasible to wash parts like the body, paws, tail, etc in something like a tub if it starts to smell bad? And also, any recommendations on how to keep a fursuit head look new, or perhaps keeping it in good care like the rest of the body? I've read that a mix of rubbing alcohol and water applied will keep it clean on the outside, but unsure if the inside is a different story.
I would say talk to your builder about what to use on the suit to clean it. they know what they're working with and will know what sorts of things will mess up the airbrushing or whatever. For instance rubbing alcohol makes certain otherwise permanent inks run.
In general teddy bear cleaner is a nice easy cleaner that you can gently hand wash a head with. For the inside I use an anti bacterial spray, again just talk to your builder cause it can depend on the kind of head.
For washing at a con. You could hand wash in a tub if you want, it should work. I brought along these hand was tide things to get the pits and thighs if needed. There's also washing machines available in many hotels so you may want to check that out and just toss it in the wash as you would normally.

so i have been up for almost 36 hours am definitely watching before bed, i just showed my suit to roughly 40 Japanese students who just got off the plane, and it was a hit, so for the next two days i have the job of entertaining them while they eat breakfast in shifts (about 62 kids in total and we are at a hotel so out of curtsy we are eating in shifts so others have a chance.)
