Regular Show - Regular Zone!
Cartoon Network took over the local New Children's Museum for SDCC. A short walk from the convention but very hard to miss considering they had a huge inflatable display of Mordecai and Rigby setup near by. A really fun experience though and well thought out, especially for us big fans of the show. I feel sorry for anyone who went on this "interactive tour" and has not seen the episodes titled "High Score" and more importantly"Just Set up the Chairs" and "Fuzzy Dice".
The wait took about two hours but they had characters like Muscle Man out and about cracking you up. Rigby and Mordecai were riding around in their golfcart. Jack Farley was also going around giving out handshakes and a "special" card IF he thought you were awesome enough to deserve it that said "Jack Farley thinks you're awesome" which would later play a special part in the tour.
So once your group goes on, you start walking down a dark stairway that begins to brighten by the glow of Neon lights and arcade games everywhere. We're told to go on and have fun, it's a party. You don't need to tell me twice and all the games were free play as well. I had just about beaten the first level of Burger Time (titled something Regular Show themed that I can't remember!) when all the games started going on the Fritz with the power going on and off on and off. Smoke (Fog) started to pour into the arcade and a siren went off. A janitor comes to the rescue with a flashlight and tells us to follow him. As we walk into the next area, we see that the infamous game "Destroyer of Worlds" has its screen cracked and the evil villain has been released from its game. You go into the next room and there's joysticks and mash pads of all types and sizes setup around the room. A big screen in the middle has Mordecei and Rigby interact with you, telling you to grab a joystick and get ready for battle. Next thing you know you're up against the villain, Mortal Kombat style on the many screens around you. Once given the signal, you button mash the villain to death.
Rigby and Mordecai thank you and the janitor worships you like you're God himself for saving the world. You go into the next room which is the Prize Counter, set up just like in the episode or like what you would see at a place like Chuckie Cheese. The guy at the Prize counter hands you plastic teeth as your reward BUT if you have the special Jack Farley card and present it, you get a pair of Fuzzy Dice which he presents to you in a bow down like fashion! HA! Everyone also gets this huge double sided Regular Show poster as well.

I went back on Sunday for a photo op I couldn't pass up.
