The only quicksand I won't play in, is the stuff you find in tidal flats. That stuff doesn't play fair. All the water rushes out, and it turns to concrete, locking you in. Then you've got to get free before the tide comes in.
Anything else, especially quicksand that has mud or clay in it, is fair game!
